Glass Balustrade in Llandrindod, Wales

Origin Architectural recently completed this balustrade for a customer’s decking in Llandrindod, in Powys Wales.

The customer wanted a barrier to protect a fall from her decking. She was concerned that the stainless steel posts would discolour. We were able to reassure the customer that the stainless steel that we had supplied was grade 316 and as such was designed to be outside. We did discuss with the customer however that the posts were stainLESS. As such, they needed to be regularly maintained to stop residue from building up on the posts and to stop them from discolouring. We supplied some scotch bite cloths and stainless steel cleaner. We advised the customer that they should be cleaned 3 or 4 times a year.

The customer wanted to get the decking completed as soon as possible. She had grandchildren coming to stay and was concerned about the fall. Using our software, we were able to supply the customer with a design for the decking which included both the posts and the glass. The posts and the glass were all ordered at exactly the same time and everything arrived on site in 10 days. Price was also important to our customer. We informed the customer that one of the biggest costs is installation. Our posts arrive completely prefabricated. All that was necessary was to lift the base plate cover and then it was three fixings through the base plate. The customer could not believe how easy it all was!

Once it was all installed the customer sent us a number of images and posted a really complimentary review on our website. She could not have been happier with the end product. She recommended us to her neighbours who have had exactly the same system installed. The only change was that this time, they decided to include a handrail.
